o Hi! o
The last two and a half days have felt like a week and a half all wrapped in one. I guess it is because I have actually done things, which is quite the leap from when I was doing nothing (clearly stated in the previous writing). My brother Robert (now prefers Rob - but still unable to call him that) and his lovely wife Elisa came to Nashville on Thursday and I left with them for there home on Saturday evening. I have never stayed with them, without any other family so I definitely was very interested how it would go. The drive to Ohio was pleasant, it felt like a breeze compared to 13 hours on the road to Texas. We listened to "The Shack" on CD, got yummy black crouton's, and was startled by a belching sheep in a dog cage as we were leaving Ruby Tuesdays. Ordinary Trip.
Yesterday, after the church picnic we had a random idea of filming some strange doll around Cincinnati. We went to the dollar store and found a stuffed bee from "The Bee Movie", every once in a while if you hit the stinger just right it would attempt to make a buzzing noise but we always felt it lacked emotion. After filming it flying in the car, slapping my brothers face and it driving we went to eat at a restaurant called MAX & ERMA'S. I was a little cautious since it sounded to much like taxidermist, and I proffered not to eat at a place like that. But I went anyways, It was pretty swell reminded me of a o' charly's or something like that. I think we scared our waiter, when mr.bee decided to make an appearance. After a few snap shots of the bee, we headed over to Yagoots - a frozen yogurt place that seems pretty modern and very true to the realness of yogurt which means it was not sweet as expected. It was tangy and tart, at first I was a little taken back by it almost unsure of actually wanting a whole bowl full but then it captured me. The cold tangy/tart thing gave me a kick that was actually quite enjoyable. We then put mr. bee to the test by placing him under the windshield wiper and seeing how he could hold up. He seem to do ok, after the wipers stopped all he could say was the sad buzzing noise. We know he enjoyed it.
Then It was off to fireworks downtown for labor day. Which I thought was kind of odd, since I had never heard of a big light up production on labor day- actually the day before. But we hiked up a hill, and found a spot that overlooked the river. I was told while waiting for the spectacular event, that on one side of the river it was Ohio and on the other was Kentucky I thought that was pretty cool. Also while waiting, there was yelling wars between the states of coarse I felt as if Ohio was louder and prouder but they were right in my ear drum so I seemed to favor them more. After a classic rock song that lasted 10 minutes the pyrotechnics began. Streams of gold shot into the air one after another dancing into the sky with a solid mix tape song accompanying it. The first set, I would like to call The Classics. They shot up nice and quick and exploded in the classic palm tree shape of a firework. The show wasn't that too fancy at this point just the normal bright colors flashing quickly and ending as quickly as they came. But then Johnny Cash's voice was mildly heard over the speakers, and the deep bass beat of "Ring of Fire" began to ring through our ears. One firework shot straight up and another one right after that formed into a ring. So it fell into burning ring of fire, o yeah thats right. ha ha I thought it was a little punny but it sure made me laugh. Then a classical piece came on, the sparks seemed to look extra classy colors of silver and gold and lots of dazzle. O yeah these I like to call The Dazzlers. The different sets of fireworks kept on coming with no end in sight, great song right after another played with every ending leaving you thinking it was the finale but it never seemed to dull. Finally millions of white flares on a constant upward path formed together to make some kind of fountain looking thing - in the sky. It was crazy but amazing at the same time. Of coarse the last minute was just a cornucopia of fizgig filling the sky, and finally plummeting to the river with a darkness that had been forgotten and silence that seemed to never been known. It was amazing how everyone knew the second it had really ended and the streets became pandemonium. All seem to be speed walking or even racing to the final parking lot. To me the game was don't get beer spilled on me or loose the back of my brothers head. Thankfully neither of those things happened and we made it to the car in what seemed warp speed.
Today we went to the Renaissance Festival, O the joy of a festival for me. I love festivals, it always seems as if im in another world. When we walked through the castle doors and were greeted with fake English accents that still made us laugh I felt I was home. There were tons of different shows, games, and tons of different shops for all your medieval gear. I love how people call out crazy things, and it is totally except able to be as odd as possible. All the shows were very funny, but more then there talent what made me laugh was all the preformers I saw had very dry humor and it made my cheeks hurt they were so funny. We ate turkey legs and saw real jousting not just the kind on A Knights Tale. It was great fun.
Well after that amazingly long post I shall end. Im going to elementary school with elisa tomorrow so who knows what story I will have to say about that.
Goodnight to all, and all a goodnight!
