"It is very often nothing but our own vanity that deceives us." - Jane Austen

Because of all this time of walking, thinking, and reading. I have become a little obsessed in the world of Ms. Austen - once again. I will admit since I was in highschool I have been a fan of her writings, but it seems all I do these days other then trying to prepare for my upcoming adventure is think of life in Bathe, Hampshire, or even London. Her stories never seem to fail me, with each so distinguished without being snobbish. Everything is painted beautifully, and each character is so unique. As i sit and take in the silence, I think of the women of that period. How did they not go crazy? They were not suppose to work for that was beneath them as a women, and they were not suppose to be adventures, because they could harm themselves. So they were to stick to there own grounds, and wait till the day a suitor would notice them. O my goodness, I would seriously go mad. Not be able to be free, to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. So they learned small skills of admiration, wore corsets, and waited. I must say I choose my life over that. I might choose the gentlemen of that period or at least the ones in Jane Austen's novels over the fellows I have met. I mean who would not like a Mr. Knightly in there life? Well enough of that. But if you are fans of Austen, I'm in the middle of reading a series by Lori Wick that was written to be in the same period as Austen's novels and they are really good. Its called "The Garden Series" and there are four great books in it.
Have a grand one friends.

I totally agree. That whole feminism thing brought about so much positive change for women and so much negative change in men. I love reading old novels, I want to read Jane Eyre again. I think it might be a totally different time, but I remember liking it, and it is too soon to read Pride and Prejudice again. I love you!

Ems, I totally agree as well! I would go stir crazy just sitting around for Mr. Right and while doing so, sewing or making a doily. lol. Put me in the action! haha. But seriously, I would take those guys, especially Mr. Darcy. sigh
