Finally time to breathe....
This past week has been going, going, gone. I jumped right back into my daily schedule:
I wake up at 6, have devotions and a peaceful breakfast. Catch a fergone (van) at 8, and arrive at the kindergarten by 8:30. Then leave the kids around 12 and head back to lushnje around 12:30, and have lunch around 1. Then I have a hour and a half to two hours to rest. Then meet elke around 2:30 or 3. We walk, we pray, meet with people from the church, and just go over future plans for our ministry. I usally leave her house or coffee shop around 5 and begin my trek back home to my apartment. From 5:15- 6 I do little chores, TRY to clean my room, pick up whatever I might have left out from the rush in the morning or just do something productive. At 6 I eat dinner, then me and jess usually watch a movie and are done by 8. Then I am on the internet till 9, and read a book untill 10 (or untill I cant keep my eyes open any more, remember I got up at 6!) . I force myself to wash my face and brush my teeth, and are in bed around 10:15.
That my friends is my life here. It sounds very predictable, and nothing like an adventurous life in a foriegn country should be. sorry. ha ha.
Well this weekend all the nazarene church's in albania took a trip to Berat which is the oldest surviving city here. It has a old rock castle and winding rocky small streets that remind you of something from braveheart or lord of the rings. It was a perfect day, many people prayed for amazing weather. "They say God is happiest, when his children are at play" - Legend of bagger vance. And let me tell you He was happy. It was gorgeous with the sun high in the sky and a constant breeze that made your hair drift to side always. It was lovely. We had a small service with a few songs and a short sermon. The rest of the afternoon was filled with the kids running around and me and Kaci taking a long walk throughout the rocky terrain. We headed back on the bus and I did not get off at the Lushnje exit. Instead I stayed on and headed to Tirana to stay at the main missionaries house. We had a chance to catch up, and ended the evening with a nice restful sleep. The next morning I slept in and was given the keys and met everyone at the church later for the main service. It was o so relaxing. After church I went over to Kaci and Ryans house for lunch. We ate and then waited till the little ones were down for there sunday nap. Me and Kaci snuck out and headed to the creip place a couple blocks from her house. We got creips filled with bannana, chocolate, and little cookie crumbles on top. It was perfectly amazing. We sat in the fun loft lounge area they had and sipped macchiatos and chowed down on our phenominal creips. It was just so good to be sitting down with a good friend and have a good talk. It is something I have missed, and am so thankful for having her here.
The week started back sooner then the restful weekend had begun. But the week has been pretty good so far. Next week a work and witness team is coming from pennsyalvania so I will be doing some overtime with them around. But it will be fun to see a group of americans experiance Albania for the first time. I am excited about what God is doing, and I know there is a lot to look forward to for the days to come.
