Sweet Surrender Krakow Grand Opening!

The month of March has gone by so quickly, I am still unsure how to word all that has happened.

The weeks leading up to this past weekend, was anything but relaxing. The days were filled with cleaning, many tram stops, grocery shopping in bulk, immigration papers, cleaning, being approved health wise to work in the shop, and of coarse more cleaning. Though the days were long and half of the time I was unsure what was happening, we still found time to have fun and soak up the comforting friends beside us.

Friday morning started with a team meeting, that was such a sweet meaningful time and for me that really strengthened me for the weekend. I am SO thankful to have a strong team here in Krakow. We are all different in ages and in personality, but we all have the common call to serve in Krakow. As we sat around the bright comfy couches in the shop and prayed for each other and the crazy weekend ahead, I could not have been more thankful for the people God has placed in my life here.

After prayer, Katie took out her trusty To-Do list and we each were given something to clean in the shop. We cleaned the shop seriously from top - to bottom. But surprisingly we had a fun time, we sang a long to music, laughed, and got it all done in just a few hours.

I got the responsibility of picking up the gospel choir from the train station that afternoon. Which was interesting leading a group of 16 through the biggest mall in Krakow. But we made it and everyone got on and off the tram at the appropriate times :)

We had the choir come from Poznan, because they work with the Sweet Surrender coffee shop in Poznan and we have a good relationship with them. I loved seeing there faces as they entered our shop in Krakow. There faces lit up, and huge smiles were from ear to ear.

I love seeing that, and I got to see it a lot during the weekend. Every time someone new came through the door you could tell they could feel that this place was not just a coffee shop. They could really feel the warmth that God has placed throughout the shop. How beautiful is that?

Saturday was much calmer and easier then I would have ever thought it would be. We had plenty time to do some preparations for the food, and coffee. The party was suppose to start at 6, but by 5:30 the shop was already starting to fill up and food orders were coming through.

Around 200 people came in and out of the shop. It was unbelievable. Things went so smoothly, everyone had fun- staff included, and the Spirit filled every part of the shop. It was a night I will always remember.

The next morning we had a worship service with the choir from Poznan. We had 60 people come, and the shop was filled with pure worship. It was beautiful.

Thank you so much for all of you prayers for this past weekend.
